About
The ultimate vision of Rethinking Access is to create a more inclusive and accessible world for disabled people. A world where disabled people can thrive, spending time and money in places and spaces that make a positive difference to their lives.
In order to achieve this, Rethinking Access supports and enables organisations to not only understand disability but deliver solutions which enhance accessibility, driving customer satisfaction and business growth.

Katrina O'Leary is the founder of Rethinking Access and has an adult daughter with profound and multiple learning disabilities. As a result of this lived experience, Katrina is passionate about everyone with disabilities being able to access their communities. Combining a passion for inclusion with previous consultancy and Chair of Governors experience has led to a wonderful position of successfully working with organisations in the field of accessibility.
In 2018 Katrina co-founded a group with other Mums called Need2Change. This is still operational and is dedicated to raising awareness, and changing things for the better, for children and adults with complex disabilities and their families.
Katrina has undertaken numerous inclusion projects as a trusted delivery partner, supporting councils in accessing funding and delivering Changing Places facilities, being an Accessibility Forum member, designing and facilitating focus groups, providing Disability Awareness Training and implementing other initiatives for people with complex disabilities. Katrina has contributed to newspaper articles, promotional videos, an ITV news piece and has been praised in the House of Commons for her work.
My Pledge to You

Rethinking Access is committed to delivering professional, pragmatic, personalised and positive solutions that exceed your expectations.
Professionalism– when there are so many differing ideas, it is about continuous learning and solutions based on best practice.
Pragmatism – when everything is possible, it is about solutions which add the most value and are implementable.
Personalisation – when all organisations are different, it is about aligning solutions with your organisation’s aims and ways of doing things.
Positivity – when considering and implementing change has the potential to be a negative experience, it is about creating a positive journey from start to finish and this is reflected in the way all assignments are delivered.
No project is too small and if you're looking for something other than the core offer, then that is possible too. Please do get in touch.
